When It Rains, It Pours

This past week has been one of those weeks where you have to laugh because everything went wrong that could go wrong. From stomach bugs to concussion with a kid to our dog getting into Amazon packages and completely destroying a new bike seat. When it rains it seriously pours. But honestly in all of this we had to laugh and say really God we are here and listening. You have to have a humor when your going through something like this in order to not cry all day.

Driving down to Juravinski was sureal.  Seeing the hospital from afar and realizing this is a whole new season of our life was hard to swallow.
As for Jesse's appointment yesterday, we met with a surgeon.  The cancer is colon cancer which is a slow growing cancer (praise God). We asked many questions to which some answers he had but not all . He wants Jesse to do chemo before considering surgery as the cancer has spread to his lymphs and looks to be in his liver. (We already knew it spread) So as we digest and pray on all the decisions that we need to make we ask for prayer for clarity and peace. Our next step will be waiting for oncology to call us and present a plan of treatment for Jesse. God knows our days on the earth and nothing we will do will change that. As we drove to Juravinski a song by Shane and Shane called Psalm 90 came on and the words:
"Teach us, Lord
To number days on Earth
Give us more
Wisdom in the secret heart
As You displayed amazing grace
In Jesus Christ for us" really spoke to us.
So let me ask you, are you living your days on this earth as if they are numbered? Do you have a relationship with Jesus and know that you are so loved by Him? Because when death comes knocking and your life is in the midst of chaos He is there and that peace that passes all understanding is so incredible .

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Philippians  4: 4-7
