Breath of Life

 Our perspective on life has changed so much in the last 6 months, things that use to matter just don't anymore and our gaze is on what's to come.

We had to put our black lab down this week and as I watched her take her last breath I was struck by how one minute she was here and the next gone. All that remained was a shell, a body with no life. I got to thinking about the breath of life that God speaks about in Genesis when He made man. The Lord God breathed into the man and gave him life. Then the Lord God formed a man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being. Genesis 2:7 God actually breathed His breath into Adam's nostrils, how amazing is that!

Breath in our lungs, the breath of life that keeps us alive. We don't know when that will be taken from us. Here one minute and gone the next . Just a body left and the spirit gone. So what will I do while I have this breath of life? How shall I live? Where should I spend my time and energy?  We had 10 sweet years with Tika and made many memories with her. We bought her right after we got married so she had been through many big life events with us .  I'm so glad God can use an old dog to teach us lessons for life; that I'm to use this breath of life He has given to further His Kingdom.

Jesse has been doing well through his chemo treatments with minimal side effect.  He even went hunting up north last week with some friends.  His blood work shows that his cancer markers are dropping quickly which we're so encouraged about and praising the Lord! That means the chemo is doing its job! It's just shy of a month until Jesse's next CT scan and the doctor anticipates a good result from  that scan.

We're so blessed to be walking this journey with our Lord and Savior . I can't imagine not having the eternal hope we have in Him.  We will continue to praise and bless His name though we don't know the outcome.  Thank you for your continued prayers and support for our family.

Love,

Jenn and Jesse

Naked I came from my mother’s womb,

    and naked I will depart.

The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away;

    may the name of the Lord be praised. Job 1:21
